Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and empathetically to calls from individual and concerned community members seeking assistance.
• Assess the safety and needs of callers, utilizing crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate stressful situations.
• Document all interactions thoroughly, including details of the situation, actions taken, and follow-up recommendations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as social workers, law enforcement, and healthcare providers to coordinate appropriate interventions.
• Maintain confidentiality while adhering to legal and organizational guidelines related to child welfare and crisis management.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of crisis intervention strategies and crisis management principles.
• Knowledge of child welfare systems, family law, and behavioral health resources.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations tactfully.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed for 24/7 hotline coverage.
• Demonstrated conflict management skills with a focus on de-escalation techniques.
