About the Role
As a Clinician at CCCC, you will provide direct clinical and support services to both resident and non-resident clients. This includes counseling, crisis intervention, support groups, prevention education, and program leadership for childrens services. You will work collaboratively across departments to ensure survivors receive coordinated, trauma-informed, and empowering care.
Position Summary
Responsible for providing direct clinical and support services to non-resident clients and/or resident clients, including short-term counseling, support group, crisis intervention, and information/referral. Collaborates in case review meetings with the non-residential and residential client services teams. Serves on SANE on-call on a limited, scheduled basis.
Implementation of agency outreach education in the schools and community, as well as program services for children of agency clients. Outreach and education objectives intended to reduce domestic violence include education about healthy relationships, stalking and dating violence, sexual assault awareness, and prevention. Provides program leadership and oversight to the childrens program.
Implement, manage, and facilitate support groups built around trauma-informed care, adult and children.
Actively participate in facility functions with a solution-focused mindset, which is represented through flexibility, collaboration, and a can do attitude to ensure organizational success.
Key Responsibility Areas:

Provide individual counseling and advocacy to victims of family violence, sexual assault, and/or incest for both resident and non-resident clients.

Develop Mental Health Assessment Plan, which may include, but is not limited to, safety plans, service goals, measurable outcomes, and time-limited objectives.

Plan and conduct short-term counseling sessions (up to 10 visits) with client/family.

Maintain accurate client records and documents, including timely and complete data entry.

Serves and maintains a client appointment schedule of at least five and a maximum of eight visits (up to 55 minutes per session) per day.

Conduct groups (life skill, domestic violence support, sexual abuse survivors) as needed.

Support Interns specialized in Counseling and/or Social Services and collaborate with them as needed.

Refer to non-residential and residential programs, any client who is seeking assistance in housing, legal, shelter to the respective staff member.

Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation services, and counseling services for clients via a face-to-face session, video-conferencing, or by telephone, when necessary.

Advocate for clients by providing appropriate referrals for services to be provided by other agencies and discussing those referrals with the clients assigned client services team.

Calling and confirming scheduled client appointments up to two days prior to the scheduled appointment time.

Collaborate with reception staff members to schedule and reschedule clients.

Participate and collaborate in case reviews and client staffing meetings.

Must possess a personal, insured vehicle for use on the job with a valid driver's license.

Participate in the development and delivery of training to staff and volunteers on topics related to sexual assault, suicide prevention, confidentiality, trauma-informed care, cultural sensitivity, crisis intervention, vicarious trauma, and self-care. The agency may add to the list as need arises.

Must complete The Crisis Center of Comal County 40-hour Sexual Assault Training Program, certified by the Office of the Attorney General, within six months of employment.

Make public appearances when requested as a representative of the agency to represent the services of the agency to the community.

Work collaboratively with agency team members to provide needed comprehensive services to children.

Participate in fund-raising events as directed.

Perform crisis intervention and support that includes performing de-escalation techniques and assessment to effectively move clients to safety.

Ensure clients immediate safety for acute cases of DV/SA by providing transportation when needed.

Provide direct services and case management support as necessary.
-
Maintain licenser requirements, such as supervision, malpractice insurance, and CEUs.

Qualifications/Skills:

Knowledge and experience regarding dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Ability to respond appropriately to disclosures of victimization and to work effectively during crises.

Clinical experience providing short-term crisis counseling to victims and survivors
-
Must abide by Counseling Ethical Standards for the State of Texas.

Excellent reading, speaking, writing, and computer skills.
-
Knowledge of resources for referring clients who have clinically significant behavioral and psychological problems or other specialized resource needs.

Bilingual in English/Spanish desired.

Education and training may include, but are not limited to, such areas as suicide, substance addiction, sexual abuse, child abuse, domestic violence, and chemical dependency.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Masters degree in clinical study (Psychology, Counseling, Social Work) Must be licensed and maintain licensure as an LPC, LPC-Associate, LMFT, LMFT-Associate, or LCSW. Annual training and continuing education for all Counseling staff must be in accordance with the respective licensing act/board requirements and at the employee's expense.
