Position: On-Call Police Response Advocate (PRA)/ Junction City
Responsible to: Police Response Advocate Coordinator/ Junction City
Primary Responsibilities: The Junction City Police Response Advocate (PRA) Program provides prompt, skilled responses to domestic violence crime scenes in collaboration with the Junction City Police Department. PRAs provide victims with on-scene crisis intervention and safety planning.
Specific Duties:
- Respond immediately to domestic violence crime scenes in Junction City when called by dispatch/ law enforcement during shift.
- Provide on-scene crisis intervention and safety planning services to victims.
- Complete required documentation and deliver to PRA Coordinator.
- Attend quarterly PRA meetings.
- Assist with other duties as assigned during shift.
Requirements: Ability to work with diverse populations in a non-judgmental and professional manner; ability to remain calm during crisis or emergency situations; ability to maintain strict confidentiality; successful completion of required training and PRA shift shadowing; ability to follow agency ethics, policies, and procedures. Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and insurance at all times. Must be able to pass criminal and child abuse background checks. On-call PRAs must reside in Junction City, KS.
Shifts & Compensation: The On-Call PRA is compensated with a per shift stipend and mileage reimbursement. Available PRA shifts are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM; Saturday/ Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Compensation is $60/ shift, $85/ holiday shift. All PRAs are expected to perform some on-call on weekends and holidays, and be scheduled at least one shift per pay period (15 days). Mileage is reimbursed at .70 cents/ mile.
