Duties
- Plan, organize, and execute engaging activities that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and health conditions, including memory care and dementia-specific programs
- Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to develop personalized activity plans that support residents’ physical, emotional, and social needs
- Lead recreational therapy sessions focused on enhancing cognitive function, mobility, and emotional health
- Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced mix of events throughout the week
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as mobility exercises or social participation to promote independence
- Coordinate special events, outings, and community engagement initiatives that foster social connections within the community
- Maintain detailed records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness
Skills
- Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or nursing home settings with a focus on senior care or long-term care environments
- Strong knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, dementia care best practices, and recreational therapy techniques
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents of varying abilities and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage multiple schedules efficiently while adapting to changing resident needs
- Compassionate caregiving skills with experience assisting residents with ADLs and supporting aging issues counseling
- Familiarity with working with people with disabilities and providing inclusive activities that promote independence and engagement
- Solid background in social work or related fields emphasizing senior care, home & community care experience, or aging issues management
- Bachelor's degree in recreation or related field with one-year related experience and/or
- Associate degree in recreation or related field with related work experience OR
- 3-5 years full-time experience working with adult recreation.
- Experience and Knowledge in of senior living, including assisted living, Memory care, and
- Knowledge of and/or ability to quickly master an understanding of related regulatory and compliance requirements required.
- Experience in recruiting, training, and managing people preferred.
- Working knowledge of computers including Excel, Word, and MS Office.
- Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
- Must possess valid driver's license.

Pay: $62,360.00 - $64,000.00 per year
