House Manager/Family Assistant

Position:            House Manager/Family AssistantSchedule:            Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm) with flexibility to work additional hours as needed, including occasional help on SaturdaysLocation:            Rye, NYSalary:             $40-50/hour plus benefits (health insurance & 401k)                                   Overview:Active family of 4 is seeking a bright, seasoned, and energetic live-out House Manager/Family Assistant to help manage their household in Rye, NY and assist with their two children (age 13). Candidate must have excellent time management skills and be a capable problem-solver, with 5-7 years of experience in private home settings with excellent recommendations from current and past employers.  This role is perfect for an individual with a high level of emotional intelligence: capable, intuitive, knows when to ‘step in’ and ‘step out’ and anticipate needs. Seeking someone adaptable, flexible, and proactive with a positive "can-do" attitude. Duties:·      Management and proactive organization of household, including all closets, pantries and storage areas·      Supervise weekly cleaning team·      Pickup children from school and drive them to activities ·      Prepare healthy meals and snacks ·      Run errands (clothing, hardware, post office, dry cleaning, etc.)·      Maintain grocery and household inventory (online and in-person shopping), track down special items, arrange for deliveries as needed. Keep refrigerator organized and clean, dispose of old/expired foods·      Coordinate with contractors/vendors (gardener, repairmen, handyman, etc.), take notice of needed repairs and address them with principals·      Light housekeeping as needed to help keep the household in order ·      Assist with dog care (let out as needed, take to appointments, etc.)·      Coordinate for pet care/dog sitter, be responsible for safety of pets when home alone or when family is traveling·      Use apps such as WhatsApp and Google docs to communicate with principals, support household schedule and organize tasks  Requirements:·      Patient and supportive with children, some education or child-care experience preferred·      Flexible in adapting to family’s priorities and managing varied schedule/responsibilities·      Respectful of family’s privacy and follows family’s safety standards·      Independently and actively researches and solves problems·      Comfortable with and enjoys pets·      Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills·      Safe, experienced driver with perfect driving record

Salary : $40 - $50
