The Department of History, Political Science, and Criminal Justice is seeking adjuncts to teach courses in World or US History during the fall and spring semesters.
Adjunct faculty in History are instructors-of-record and are responsible for planning lessons, developing assignments and activities, grading and returning student work, and holding classes as scheduled by the University. Additional duties include organizing office hours, answering emails promptly, administering course evaluations, and meeting College of Liberal Arts and departmental deadlines.
Primary Qualifications:

Primary Qualifications:
- A master’s and/or doctorate in an appropriate discipline is required.
- Higher education teaching experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- The successful candidate must be an active member of a local church.
- Must be available for morning, afternoon, and/or evening sessions as assigned.
- Requires the ability to interact professionally with supervisors, colleagues, and students while exercising tact, discretion, and independent judgment.
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Work will be performed in an office and classroom environment with significant interaction with students, colleagues, and the public, both in person and through telephone and email communication.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively and present course material with confidence.
- Ability to connect academic concepts with relevant real-world experience.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), email, online learning systems, and other technologies used to communicate with students.
- Demonstrated passion for the relevant academic field and education.
- Working knowledge of curriculum design, pedagogy, and alignment of learning outcomes.
- Requires creativity, initiative, and effective problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy.
