QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for this position, you must meet the qualification requirements outlined below:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-15: To be minimally qualified for this position you must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal Government. Specialized experience is experience that is related to the work of this position and has provided you with the competencies required for successful job performance.
Specialized experience for this position includes:

  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to the executive on administrative, operational, and cross-organizational coordination matters impacting agency, corporation/company, or departmental priorities, being the central coordination point between the executive office, external partners and interagency or corporation/company partners on sensitive and high-priority matters, and representing senior leadership, as appropriate, and represent the executive in internal coordination meetings and senior-level discussions focused on execution, alignment, and operational follow-through.
  • Experience with management principles, theories, and practices and their applicability to agency or corporation/company-wide programs, functions, objectives, and the development of long-term strategic plans incorporating short-term and long-term goals. Identify operational gaps, process inefficiencies, and coordination challenges; recommend and implement solutions to improve organizational effectiveness, responsiveness, and execution discipline.
  • Experience communicating both orally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders to persuade implementation of substantial changes in agency or corporation/company resources and established procedures. Synthesize input from senior leadership, interagency partners, and/or external stakeholders into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations. Preparing agency directives, agency, corporation/company-wide policy statements, briefing documents, status reports, and other written guidelines and recommendations.
  • Experience overseeing, coordinating and conducting the development of briefing material, presentations and negotiations on technical problems, outcomes, and recommendations to gain cooperation from top officials at federal, state, local, and non-government organizations to improve services provided, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with strategic objectives. Establish and maintain effective relationships to gain confidence and cooperation of supervisors, managers, and co-workers to accept proposals.
  • Experience independently leading and managing high-visibility, cross-functional, time-sensitive, and complex initiatives, programs and projects, often of a confidential and technical nature, delegated by manager or executive, planning and directing workflow with competing priorities emerging day to day, ensuring alignment with executive intent and timely execution. Anticipate emerging issues, risks, and stakeholder concerns; proactively brief senior leaders or equivalent on matters requiring awareness, intervention, or decision and ensure continuity of operations within the executive office during leadership transitions, high-tempo periods, or emerging situations affecting organization wide operations.

You must also meet the following requirements

  • MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: Minimum age for federal employment is 18 years old, or at least 16 years old and have:
    • Graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or
    • Completed a formal vocational training program; or
    • Received a statement from school authorities agreeing with your preference for employment rather than continuing your education.

Education:A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to Department of Education Accreditation page.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
