Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of the CYD Locomotive Equipment Manager to understand different principal components
- Assist in maintaining a high level of safety compliance and awareness at all times.
- Interact and collaborate with other locomotive mechanics to ensure expert input, guidance and consistency to resolving mechanical issues.
- Ability to research regulations and industry best practices to help the team work toward solutions.
- Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and professionals in the business units.
- Must be willing to work out of town with possible overnight stays when deemed necessary.
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate degree program preferably in Environmental Health and Safety or similar major.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience and proficiency using the internet and Microsoft Office Suite of products.
- Strong desire to work in the industry.
