Key Responsibilities
- Champion a culture of safety—enforce all safety protocols and ensure the use of proper tools and equipment for every task.
- Lead and supervise your crew, delegating tasks efficiently and fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
- Support your team with hands-on work, including shoveling, raking, and safely guiding trucks during paving operations.
- Oversee the preparation and placement of construction materials, as well as the setup and removal of traffic control devices.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and company leadership regarding safety concerns, project progress, and personnel matters.
- Promote the company’s values and interests in all aspects of your work, ensuring professionalism and integrity at every step.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to ensure project success.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ related experience in asphalt construction, paving, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Proven success supervising teams and/or leading traveling crews.
- Experience with budget management is a plus—or a willingness to learn.
- Strong leadership skills: ability to inspire, motivate, and develop team members.
- Excellent communication: skilled at building rapport, giving feedback, and resolving issues positively.
- Commitment to integrity, safety, and quality—no shortcuts, only high standards.
- Working knowledge of customer specifications to ensure projects are delivered right the first time.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible, non-traditional hours as projects require.
- Professional, courteous, and adaptable—ready to represent our company with pride.
- Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
- Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.
- Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
- Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
