Finance Director
Our client, a fast-growing mid-sized industrial services company near Porter, Indiana, is seeking an experienced Finance Director to provide financial leadership for a ~$500M division and play a key role in driving its growth and overall financial and operational performance. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who wants to be more than a traditional finance leader—partnering directly with senior and operational leadership to influence strategy, improve profitability, and help shape the future of the organization.
The Finance Director will lead FP&A, forecasting, performance reporting, and operational finance, providing leadership with the insights needed to make better business decisions. This is an ideal opportunity for a finance leader who enjoys being close to the business, working alongside operations, and building processes in an entrepreneurial manufacturing environment!
Location: Porter, IN
Hybrid Flexibility: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
Compensation: $185,000 - $210,000 20% annual bonus
Direct Reports: 2 employees
Responsibilities
- Own the annual planning and forecasting process, updating projections as business needs evolve.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a small finance team.
- Serve as a key finance business partner to Operations and senior leadership.
- Develop short- and long-term financial plans that support business objectives and growth.
- Build financial models and provide analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Analyze profitability, pricing, costs, and key business drivers to identify opportunities for improved performance.
- Monitor cash flow and working capital and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Develop meaningful KPIs and financial/operational reporting that provide greater visibility into business performance.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Drive improvements across financial processes, reporting, systems, and automation.
- Help strengthen and scale the finance function as the organization continues to evolve.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 10-15 years of progressive Finance/FP&A experience.
- Experience within manufacturing, distribution, CPG, transportation, or another operationally complex industry preferred.
- Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis.
- Strong understanding of profitability, cash flow, working capital, and operational finance.
- Strong business partnership skills with the ability to translate financial information into actionable insights for operational leadership.
- Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience (SAP, Oracle, or related)
- Proactive, hands-on leader who enjoys building, improving, and making a visible impact on the business.
