You'll use your expertise in roofing, siding, windows, doors, gutters, and deck framing to estimate renovation and new construction projects across multiple properties. This role combines technical estimating, project preparation, and light relationship management to help bring complex exterior projects from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
Lead Estimating Efforts
- Perform detailed site inspections, take-offs, and measurements for multifamily exterior projects
- Prepare accurate estimates for shingle roofing, vinyl and cement siding, window and door systems, gutters, and deck framing
- Evaluate property conditions - applying adjuster-level accuracy to scope development
- Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bids to finalize budgets
- Develop scope-of-work documents and assist with preconstruction turnover
Technical & Administrative Support
- Research permit requirements, licensing needs, and related fees for project setup
- Support execution teams by organizing material lists, scope summaries, and turnover documentation
- Maintain consistency and precision across all estimate documentation
Collaboration & Light Sales Support
- Partner with business development and project managers to refine proposals and bids
- Participate in preconstruction meetings and client walk throughs
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction, insurance adjusting, or exterior estimating experience
- Deep hands-on knowledge of shingle roofing, siding systems (vinyl and fiber cement), windows and doors, gutters, and deck framing
- Strong proficiency in Excel - including formulas, lookups, and formatting for estimate tracking
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Xactimate, or similar estimating software
- Able to read/interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings
- Exceptional organization and written/verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, accurate, and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently
- Comfortable traveling for site inspections (including occasional multi-day trips)
- Ideal candidate (but not required) would have moderate sales or customer-relations experience - especially in construction, insurance, or property restoration
- Also, ideally would have a bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field (or equivalent experience)
