Job Description
We are seeking a high-energy, aviation-savvy Business Development Manager to lead new SaaS sales across OEMs, MROs, Aircraft Brokers, and Aircraft Sales organizations. This role focuses on new business acquisition, strategic relationship development, and high-level solution selling to aviation industry professionals. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a consultative, fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment. This is a remote role with national (and optional international) travel for industry events, customer visits, and OEM/MRO/Brokerage presentations.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Drive new SaaS subscription revenue through outreach to OEMs, MROs, brokers, and aircraft sales organizations.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
- Conduct discovery calls, product demos, ROI presentations, and contract negotiations.
- Maintain strong deal momentum with clear communication and timely follow-ups.
Strategic Business Development
- Identify new market opportunities and high-value partnerships across the aviation ecosystem.
- Prospect and connect with decision-makers including Directors of Maintenance, Sales Managers, OEM leadership, and MRO executives.
- Develop targeted strategies for enterprise-level accounts and regional networks.
Relationship Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their maintenance workflows, aircraft records challenges, and operational goals.
- Nurture long-term relationships to increase adoption, retention, and account expansion.
- Attend aviation events, conferences, and tradeshows to strengthen industry relationships.
Product Expertise & Collaboration
- Master the CrewChief Systems platform to communicate value effectively.
- Work closely with internal product and support teams to provide customer feedback that shapes future enhancements.
- Collaborate with marketing to refine messaging, prospecting materials, and campaign strategies.
Sales Responsibilities
- Lead Qualification:
- Evaluate leads generated through marketing campaigns and qualify them based on readiness to purchase.
- Conduct initial discovery calls to understand prospects’ needs, pain points, and decision-making processes.
- Sales Outreach:
- Reach out to qualified leads via email, phone, and LinkedIn to schedule product demos.
- Customize pitches and presentations to address specific customer challenges and showcase Crewchief Systems’ value.
- Demo Delivery:
- Deliver engaging and informative product demos to prospects, highlighting key features and benefits.
- Address customer questions and objections during and after demos.
- Proposal Development and Closing:
- Prepare tailored proposals and pricing plans based on customer needs.
- Negotiate terms and close deals, ensuring smooth onboarding for new customers.
- Collaborate with the Customer Success team to transition clients post-sale.
- CRM Management:
- Use HubSpot to manage the entire sales pipeline, ensuring accurate records of customer interactions and deal stages.
- Track and report sales activity, pipeline metrics, and progress toward targets.
Qualifications
- Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or a related field or relevant field experience.
Required
- 2–5 years in B2B sales, business development, or SaaS sales.
- Experience or strong knowledge of the aviation industry (MRO, OEM, aircraft brokerage, or maintenance background preferred).
- Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Comfortable with CRM tools, virtual demos, email sequencing, and pipeline management.
Preferred
- Established relationships in the general aviation or business aviation sectors.
- Experience selling SaaS, digital maintenance solutions, ERP, or records management platforms.
- Aviation maintenance, pilot background, or OEM/MRO operations exposure.
