Outside Sales Account Manager
Position Summary
We are looking for an Outside Sales Account Manager to help us increase sales and address customer needs within our expanding sales territory.
The individual who will fill this role will primarily represent our mechanical, power transmission, electrical, hydraulic lines for the manufacturing industry. They will also recognize and seek-out opportunities to expand into businesses and industries that are currently underserved. The ability to identify customer pain points and offer solutions from all our other product lines is highly preferable.
You won’t be alone! This position is backed by in-house dedicated personnel representing each of our product lines with the expertise and professional team attitude necessary to support our new Outside Sales Account Manager with whatever is needed to make them as successful as possible.
Outside Sales Account Manager responsibilities include presenting our products and services to potential clients, identifying specific consumer characteristics and recommending ways to promote and sell our products. To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication abilities and be highly motivated to meet sales goals.
Ultimately, you will help us grow our customer base and establish our reputation in your region.
The position reports directly to the Sales Manager. This is an exempt position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Act as a point of contact for existing and potential customers within assigned territory
- Identify local business opportunities and challenges
- Report on regional sales results and provide forecasts of customer sales
- Present our products and services to prospective customers
- Maintain a knowledge base of the product lines available through our company
- Communicate with customers to identify pain points and understand their product or service needs; identify and suggest products and services to meet those needs
- Work closely with Inside Sales department and other internal teams to meet individual and group sales quotas
- Answer customer questions about features, pricing and additional services
- Cross-sell products, when appropriate
- Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolve any issues that may arise post-sale
- Maintain communication with existing and former customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest
- Maintain detailed reports of sales call activities including contacts, immediate needs, potential future business, competitor overtures/successes, and any customer or vendor relationship problems inside a company CRM system.
- Provide weekly call reports when requested by management.
- Collaborate with sales representatives from different territories to share best practices and support a cohesive sales approach
