- Receives, inspects, and verifies incoming shipments for accuracy and condition
- Stocks and organizes materials, parts, and supplies in designated warehouse locations
- Issues parts and materials to City personnel and departments as requested
- Maintains accurate inventory records, including cycle counts and stock level monitoring
- Assists with ordering supplies and maintaining appropriate inventory levels
- Utilizes, manages, and provides training on the City’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track inventory, work orders, and asset management.
- Labels, tags, and catalogs inventory items for efficient tracking and retrieval
- Maintains warehouse cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance
- Assists in tracking usage trends and reporting inventory needs to supervisors
- Coordinates with vendors and delivery personnel as needed
- Operates light equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks (as assigned)
- Supports Fleet, Public Works, Utilities, and other departments with materials and logistics needs
- Performs basic administrative tasks related to inventory and supply management
- Performs all other assigned City duties as required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory practices, and materials handling
- Ability to maintain accurate records and perform basic data entry
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to learn and effectively use CMMS software for work orders and inventory tracking
- Good communication and customer service skills when interacting with City staff and vendors
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- High school diploma or GED required
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or related field preferred
Basic computer skills required; ability to learn CMMS and inventory systems
Valid Florida driver’s license (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe)
Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
Physical Responsibilities
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to work in warehouse and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions
Work Environment
Work is performed in a warehouse, shop, and outdoor settings. Exposure to noise, dust, mechanical equipment, and varying temperatures may occur.
Salary : $45,802 - $47,882
