The Senior Operational Excellence Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations by applying Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and data-driven problem-solving. This role partners closely with Process Engineering, Production Engineering, Production Management, Supply Chain, and Quality to optimize processes, reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance overall operational efficiency. The Senior OPEX Engineer leads complex cross-functional projects, mentors team members in Lean/Six Sigma tools, and ensures sustainable implementation of best practices across sites.

Responsibilities:
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to improve productivity, reduce variation, and eliminate waste across manufacturing operations.
- Conduct value stream mapping, Kaizen events, root cause analysis (RCA), and statistical process control (SPC) to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor standardized work, 5S, visual management systems, and workflow optimization.
- Partner with Engineering and Production teams to analyze process performance, implement corrective actions, and deploy automation or technology improvements where appropriate.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver measurable results in efficiency, capacity, cost reduction, and quality metrics.
- Coach and mentor operations personnel in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Support KPIs, dashboards, and data analytics used to measure operational performance and drive decision-making.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field required
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or MBA (focus on Continuous Improvement) preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt required
- 5 – 8 years Manufacturing operations, process engineering, or continuous improvement roles
- 3 – 5 years Leading Lean or Six Sigma projects with measurable results
- 1 – 3 years Electronics, assembly, or high-mix/low-volume environments preferred
- Lean Manufacturing tools (VSM, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work)
- Six Sigma (DMAIC, SPC, hypothesis testing, DOE)
- Data analysis & statistical tools (Excel, Minitab/JMP)
- Project management and organization
- Cross-functional communication and influence
- Manufacturing systems knowledge (ERP/MES
