Job Overview

Crestron engineers many devices and products for commercial and residential markets. Raw telemetry data from these millions of IoT enabled devices is managed by Crestron’s Azure Cloud Platform.

Crestron is looking for an Engineers in Cloud Operations for 24x7 support in maintaining azure cloud services.

12x7 team covers cloud operations support for US time zones, which includes holiday and weekends involving day and night shift work.

Job Responsibilities

In this role at Crestron Inc, Plano, you will be responsible for

• Working as part of 24x7 operations team, to support the cloud services during US time zone including holidays.
• Responsible for creating tools to reduce manual effort into operations and monitoring of Cloud infrastructure.
• Establish runbooks and procedures to maintain service level agreements on a global basis.
• Establish real-time dashboard that presents critical utilization and performance data and trends.
• Maintain and update alerts for various resources.
• Coordinate as needed with various interdepartmental teams, including Engineering, Product Development, Production, Marketing and Quality.
• Help deliver key components across several active projects
• Take ownership of assigned work with mentor support, using initiative and creative thinking to solve problems
  
  

Technical Skills & Qualification

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science.
• Minimum 2 years of Relevant experience.
• Strong Analytical skills.
• Must have Skill:
• Azure PAAS services such as AKS, Dockers, App Services, IOTHUB, Event hub, Azure Functions, Azure service fabric, Redis Cache, Cosmos DB etc.
• Excellent skills in monitoring, tracing, profiling, and diagnosing distributed software services, system internals, databases, and transactions on the cloud with inherit ability to quickly grasp and logically resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent skills in analyzing and depicting patterns and trends from data collected from multiple sources.
• Strong skill in defining meaningful and achievable Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with an ability to collaborate within a team environment and with cross-functional peers to support Crestron initiatives.
• Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Optional Skills:
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell or programing languages such as Java, C#.
• Strong skill in implementing and using Cloud based Monitoring, Data Collection, Logging, Visualization, Tracing, Dependency and Code Profiling tools like the following (but not limited to) azure monitoring, azure application insights, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Dynatrace etc.
  

Soft Skills

• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills as you will be working with cross functional teams.
• Must possess strong problem-solving skills and root cause analysis.
• Operate autonomously with minimum direction
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to master new technology concepts quickly.
