What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Program Manager position at CrestPoint Strategic Advisors?

About the Role

CrestPoint Strategic Advisors is hiring a Senior Program Manager to work on a dedicated basis with an established NYC-based private equity firm.

The client is in the midst of a multi-phase data platform and technology modernization program, spanning a Microsoft Fabric-based data architecture, reporting, AI, and accounting systems implementation. As the program moves from a single-architect build phase into a durable, multi-person delivery structure, we are seeking an experienced Program Manager to serve as the connective tissue between the business, executive sponsors, and the technical delivery team.

This is a senior, hybrid role that combines program oversight, project management, and business analysis. The ideal candidate has deep private equity operations and technology experience, is fluent in translating business logic (fund accounting, investment data, reporting calculations) into technical requirements, and is comfortable being the visible face of a major initiative in front of firm leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the project plan across phases, milestones, and tasks; facilitate recurring technical standups with the development team and track execution against plan.
  • Provide regular, clear status updates to client leadership and executive sponsors; proactively surface roadblocks, risks, and dependencies, and drive them to resolution in partnership with technical team members.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the client's business stakeholders and the technical delivery team; work closely with executive leadership to stay ahead of shifting business priorities and re-align the roadmap and phased plan accordingly.
  • Partner directly with the development team to translate business processes, reports, metrics, and calculation logic into clear technical requirements and functional specifications.
  • Partner with assigned business-side data stewards to ensure maintenance of the data dictionary, metrics and calculation logic, override and adjustment protocols, and ongoing data quality controls.

Required Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience in private equity investment operations technology, including direct exposure to fund administration, portfolio investment data, and/or fund accounting systems.
  • Demonstrated experience running technology or data platform projects as a program manager, project manager, or senior business analyst, ideally in a role spanning all three functions.
  • Working knowledge of PE-specific systems and data structures, with knowledge of accounting concepts and data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to present to and manage relationships with senior executives and business sponsors.
  • Comfort operating as the primary interface between business stakeholders and a technical development team, including translating business logic into requirements (no formal engineering background required).
  • Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining project plans, tracking milestones, and running recurring scrum-style standups or working sessions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or similar modern data platform and reporting tooling.
  • Background at a PE firm, fund administrator, or a technology/consulting firm serving the alternative investments space.
  • Strong familiarity and comfort with LLMs and AI tooling (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) and automation-driven workflow initiatives is a strong plus.

What Success Looks Like

  • Client leadership has full visibility into program status, risks, and roadmap at all times, with no surprises.
  • The development team receives clear, well-documented business requirements and is never blocked waiting on business clarification.
  • Data definitions, calculation logic, and frameworks are current, accurate, and trusted by both business and technical stakeholders.
