Instructional Interventionist
Instructional Interventionists will:
- Provide support to mentors & mentees
- Deliver whole group, small group & 1:1 PD
- Model, demonstrate & support research based instructional practices and strategies
- Assist with extending competencies including use of new learning tools
- Guide implementation of Iowa Core
- Facilitate time for teachers to consider the learning needs of all students
- Foster differentiation & MTSS
- Provide reflective feedback & dialogue about teaching
- Data coach: analyze data & foster instructional decision-making
- Provide support & encouragement for change
- Serve on BLT & DLC
- Collaborate together two times per month with other district coaches to address teacher and district needs.
o Discuss instructional strategies to bring into the classrooms
o Provide resources for classroom teacher
o Review feedback sheet classroom teachers are completing following each in-service
- Work with veteran classroom teachers’ career development plan and forward to professional development coordinator for final approval
- Meet with curriculum and professional development leaders once every two weeks to:
- Review classroom teacher goals
- Review feedback sheet classroom teachers are completing following each in-service
- Assist with carrying out building initiatives and professional development
- Study research-based classroom strategies based off of district wide student data and explore which instructional methodologies are appropriate for our school
- Meet with every classroom teacher a minimum of two times per year:
o Review career development plan
o Discuss and review individual, building, and district strategies and practices being implemented
o Discuss observations and walk through data.
o Discuss and review student data.
