High School Math Teacher

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Provides instruction and guidance to high school students in grades 9-12, fostering academic, social, and emotional growth. Prepares students for post-secondary education, career readiness, and responsible citizenship. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Provides a comprehensive instructional program aligned with Ohio Department of Education standards.  Develops and implements lesson plans that support diverse learning styles and abilities.  Utilizes formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.  Maintains a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.  Collaborates with colleagues, support staff, and families to promote student success.  Engages in regular communication with parents regarding student progress and concerns.  Participates in professional development and staff meetings.  Implements classroom management strategies that foster a supportive learning atmosphere.  Integrates technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning.  Assists with school-wide initiatives, activities, and extracurricular programs.  Maintains accurate records and complies with district policies and state regulations.  Prepares students for college, career pathways, and civic engagement.  Encourages self-advocacy, leadership, and responsibility among students.  Adapts instruction to meet the needs of English learners and students with disabilities.  Provides targeted intervention, remediation, and enrichment opportunities to meet diverse student needs, while consistently progress monitoring and analyzing student growth to inform instructional decisions.  Participates in school improvement planning and curriculum development. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Serves as a role model for students, demonstrating ethical behavior and citizenship.  Encourages students to develop responsibility, independence, and respect for others.  Completes other duties as assigned by administration. ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:  Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.  Occasional interactions with students who exhibit challenging behaviors.
