We are seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter / Foreman who can lead projects in the field, manage day-to-day jobsite operations, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain our standards of quality and professionalism.
This is not a clock-in, clock-out carpenter position. We are looking for a leader who takes ownership of projects, people, and outcomes.
Position Summary
The Lead Carpenter / Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily field operations while performing hands-on carpentry work. This role serves as the primary field leader and is responsible for maintaining project quality, schedule, safety, organization, and communication.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes pride in their work, communicates professionally, solves problems proactively, and represents Crest Residential Construction with integrity.
Responsibilities Project Management & Leadership
- Manage daily jobsite operations.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and deliveries.
- Maintain project schedules and production goals.
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and company standards.
- Identify and resolve field issues before they impact project progress.
- Maintain accountability among subcontractors and laborers.
Carpentry & Construction
- Perform framing, trim carpentry, cabinetry installation, and remodeling work.
- Assist with layout, measurements, and installation activities.
- Verify dimensions and installation requirements.
- Ensure high-quality workmanship throughout all phases of construction.
Client Relations
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and project stakeholders.
- Provide project updates as requested.
- Maintain a professional appearance and jobsite environment.
- Protect and enhance the Crest Residential Construction reputation.
Quality Control
- Inspect work completed by employees and subcontractors.
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards.
- Create and manage punch lists.
- Minimize callbacks through attention to detail and proactive oversight.
Safety & Jobsite Organization
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.
- Enforce company safety standards.
- Properly manage tools, materials, and equipment.
- Coordinate material staging and storage.
Daily Responsibilities
- Open and secure jobsites.
- Review daily project priorities.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities.
- Conduct quality control inspections.
- Take progress photos and document project status.
- Communicate updates, concerns, and schedule impacts to management.
- Maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization.
- Ensure materials are available and properly staged for upcoming work.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of residential construction experience.
- Strong carpentry and remodeling skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical construction work.
