What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL A Truck Driver position at CRESCO EQUIPMENT RENTALS (Norcal Rental Group) - CAT Rental Store?
We are in search of skilled Drivers that have the ability to function well as part of a team. You must have very effective organizational and communication skills to service our clientele efficiently.
About the Role
The primary responsibility of the Driver is to help meet the equipment needs of customers by delivering and picking up equipment in a timely, safe and courteous manner as well as operate a variety of construction rental equipment. The Driver is permitted to operate heavy equipment such as semi-trucks and trailers (“low boys”). We seek highly motivated and experienced Drivers with a background in construction and industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport equipment to customer locations in a timely, safe and courteous manner
- Determine each customer’s ability to use the equipment in a safe manner
- Demonstrate use of rental equipment to customers
- Maintain driver logs and complete pre-trip inspections
- Follow all Cresco Operational Procedures
- Adhere to all safety requirements particular to the equipment, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Maintain Truck Equipment/Inventory
- Maintain the service and appearance of truck
- Follow delivery/pickup instructions from Dispatcher and Manager
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or any Cresco Manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid California driver’s license Class A
- Acceptable DOT drug test history
- Knowledge of state regulations regarding height and weight maximums and winch operations
- OSHA familiarity/training
Required Skills
- Must hold a valid California Commercial Class A Driver License
- Must have a driving record in Good Standing. To be in Good Standing, a Driver must present a current DMV printout report with none of the violations below:
- Any major violations (DWI, homicide, reckless driving, drugs, leaving the scene) within last three years
- Two or more other moving violations and one at fault accident in last three years
- Three or more other moving violations in last three years
- Two or more at fault accidents in last three years with no moving violations
- Previous CDL Driving experience
- Positive attitude

Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, gas and diesel machinery is preferred.
Pay range and compensation package
Hourly Pay Range: Starts at $35-$45 Dependent On Experience. Starting pay will depend on knowledge, skills, ability and the city that this open position is located.
