Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a graduate of an accredited nursing program and holds Louisiana state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing. The LPN has duties and responsibilities related to patient care in the ambulatory clinic environment. The individual displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively to others, and functions as a member of the healthcare team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Quality patient care
- Accurate, complete, and timely documentation
- Inventory and medication management
- Clinic environment and compliance management
- Maintenance of examination rooms between patient appointments
- Manages patient flow
- Maintains clinical competency, licensure, and performs functions within the LPN’s scope of practice.
Qualifications
Education
- The minimum education level required for the position is High School Diploma or GED, and completion of an accredited LPN training program, community college, and /or vocational school.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Work Experience
- 1 year of experience working in the clinic setting preferred
Other (licensure, certifications)
- Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing without restrictions
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Extended periods of sitting required.
- Able to lift up to 25lbs.
- Work is primarily office based.
- Some travel may be required.
