Position Summary
The Sporting Club Attendant facilitates all operational aspects of a premier outdoor shooting and recreation environment. This role requires a unique combination of high-end guest service, physical stamina, and an unwavering commitment to firearm safety and OSHA compliance. The Attendant ensures that members and guests experience a seamless, organized, and safe transition from arrival to the shooting line.
Core Responsibilities
- Guest Ambassadorship: Provide a professional and welcoming arrival experience for members and guests, serving as a key point of contact for logistics and service needs.
- Logistics & Equipment Support: Assist with the expert handling of gear, including the transport of cased firearms, ammunition, and specialized sporting equipment.
- Fleet & Facility Management: Prepare, stage, and maintain cleanliness of all transport carts and facility staging areas to ensure they are "show-ready" at all times.
- Operational Support: Maintain the organization of shooting stations and activity areas, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked and equipment is in peak operating condition.
- Safety Coordination: Transport members and guests safely across the club grounds, maintaining constant communication with the team regarding range status and guest movement.
Sporting Club & Safety Protocols (OSHA-Aligned)
- Range Safety: Strictly adhere to all established firearm safety rules and Range Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Compliance: Maintain full compliance with OSHA standards, including hazard communication, proper PPE usage, and rigorous incident reporting.
- Ammunition Handling: Manage the transport and staging of ammunition (transport/staging only; no weapon operation unless specifically certified and authorized).
- Hazard Mitigation: Proactively identify and mitigate environmental risks, including vehicle movement, terrain hazards, and noise exposure.
- PPE Enforcement: Ensure the consistent use of required ear and eye protection for both members and staff within designated zones.
- Accountability: Immediately report all unsafe acts, near-misses, or equipment malfunctions to management per company and OSHA protocols.
Employment Standards
- Experience: Previous experience in luxury hospitality, outdoor recreation, or elite sporting environments is preferred.
- Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a sophisticated membership with professionalism and discretion.
- License Requirement: A valid driver’s license is required for the operation of club vehicles.
- Attributes: Must be exceptionally reliable, detail-oriented, and possess a "safety-first" mindset.
Physical & Environmental Demands
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs (ammunition crates, gear bags) regularly and stand/walk for extended durations.
- Environmental Exposure: Frequent work in outdoor conditions, including the varied heat and sun of the Texas Hill Country.
- Acoustic Environment: Regular exposure to high-decibel noise levels (gunfire) that may exceed 85 dBA; use of hearing and eye protection is mandatory.
- Terrain Navigation: Ability to safely navigate uneven outdoor terrain and operate utility vehicles in a high-activity environment.
