Description
The AM Host is first point of contact for restaurant guests, responsible for welcoming them, managing seating and reservations, and providing information to ensure a positive dining experience. Key duties include greeting guests warmly, guiding them to their tables, maintaining a waitlist, assisting with menus and daily specials, collaborating with servers, and keeping the host station clean and organized finalizing all sales on POS.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Welcome:
Greet guests with a friendly attitude, ascertain their dining needs, and guide them to their tables.
Seating & Reservations
Manage the seating chart, optimize table usage, and handle reservations or a waiting list.
Information & Service
Inform guests about daily specials, provide menus, answer questions, and take reservations or answer phone calls.
Restaurant Flow
Monitor the restaurant's activity to manage the flow of diners and seating arrangements effectively.
Team Collaboration
Assist servers and other team members with various tasks, including side work, to ensure a smooth operation
Station Maintenance
Keep the host/hostess station clean, organized, and well-stocked.
Problem Solving
Respond to guest inquiries and concerns in a timely and efficient manner, escalating issues to a manager when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A strong passion for customer service.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Basic knowledge of food and beverage menus and restaurant operations.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform duties such as opening and closing.
A friendly and organized demeanor.
