We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical operations in a Medicare-certified home healthcare agency. The DON will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and effective clinical management. This role requires strong leadership, knowledge of Medicare guidelines, and the ability to oversee nursing staff while maintaining excellence in patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical Oversight & Quality Assurance- Oversee all clinical services to ensure compliance with Medicare, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance patient care.
- Monitor patient outcomes and drive quality improvement initiatives.
- Conduct chart audits and performance reviews to ensure accurate clinical documentation.
- Recruit, train, and supervise nursing staff and other clinical personnel.
- Provide ongoing education and training to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Ensure adherence to Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs) and accreditation requirements.
- Stay up to date with CMS guidelines, state regulations, and industry best practices.
- Oversee state surveys and accreditation processes, ensuring agency readiness.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and caregivers to optimize patient care plans.
- Address and resolve clinical concerns, patient complaints, and risk management issues.
- Support care transitions and reduce hospital readmissions through effective home healthcare interventions.
- Monitor clinical performance metrics, ensuring efficiency and high-quality care.
- Work with the Administrator to manage budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation.
- Ensure proper billing and documentation to support reimbursement and compliance.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in [Your State].
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in home healthcare, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
