Crescent Hill Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time or part-time veterinary associate to join our team. We’re a privately owned, small animal clinic; serving one of Louisville’s most eclectic and vibrant neighborhoods for 40 years. Our clinic is built around a love for animals, a commitment to client care, and a strong team culture.

We’re passionate about mentorship—whether you're a new grad or an experienced vet looking to strengthen your skills.

Clients are seen by appointment only, Monday through Friday. No weekends. No major holidays. No after-hours emergency calls. We value work-life balance!

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations to accurately diagnose and address a wide range of medical conditions in companion animals, ensuring each patient receives individualized and attentive care.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners and team members to develop and explain appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans, empowering clients to make informed decisions about their pet’s health.
  • Provide client education on preventive healthcare, including wellness protocols, vaccination schedules, parasite control, nutrition, and lifestyle-specific recommendations to promote long-term health and wellbeing.
  • Perform a variety of surgical procedures, such as spays and neuters, mass removals, and dental cleanings/extractions, with attention to detail, safety, and patient comfort.
  • Maintain meticulous, up-to-date patient records, including medical history, physical exam findings, diagnostic results, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring continuity and clarity of care.
  • Administer vaccines, medications, and treatments as part of proactive and reactive medical care, always prioritizing patient safety and efficacy of interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with a skilled team of veterinary technicians and support staff to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and efficient care, fostering a positive and respectful workplace culture.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • State veterinary license in good standing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and anxious clients with professionalism and empathy.
  • USDA accreditation encouraged but not required
  • Fear-Free Certification or open to becoming certified

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
