Junior Account Executive -- AV & Live Event Production Sales

Crescent Event Productions Inc
Charlotte, NC Full Time
POSTED ON 10/8/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/6/2026

SUMMARY

Crescent Event Productions (CEP) is a full-service live event production company creating exceptional experiences for corporate, association, and agency clients nationwide. The Junior Account Executive is a ground-floor sales role for someone early in their career who is confident, persistent, and motivated to build a career in AV and live event production sales.

The role learns Crescent's full range of AV and event production capabilities while prospecting, opening doors, building relationships, and converting new opportunities into long-term clients, working closely alongside experienced Account Executives and the VP of Sales.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•       Develop working knowledge of Crescent's audio, video, lighting, LED, and staging capabilities sufficient to speak credibly with prospective clients about equipment and production needs.

•       Prospect and develop new corporate, association, and agency clients through calls, emails, LinkedIn, referrals, networking events, and inbound leads, and maintain a full sales pipeline.

•       Shadow and learn from senior Account Executives during proposals, site visits, and client presentations to understand the full sales cycle from first contact through signed contract.

•       Hand off won events to the Project Management and Operations teams with complete and accurate details, including dates, venue, call times, and client contacts.

•       Maintain client relationships before, during, and after events, and provide on-site client support when appropriate.

•       Reconcile final show financials after each event, including labor, equipment, and any onsite changes, to ensure accurate client billing.

•       Collect and apply client feedback to improve future events and grow the client relationship.

•       Represent Crescent Event Productions at industry events and build an external professional network.

•       Track sales activity, opportunities, and client conversations in the CRM, and meet or exceed assigned monthly and quarterly activity and revenue goals.

ROLE & COMMUNICATION EXPECTATIONS

The Junior Account Executive works under the direction of the VP of Sales and in close partnership with senior Account Executives, learning Crescent's sales process through direct mentorship and hands-on participation in proposals, site visits, and client presentations.

The role does not independently own client pricing, contract terms, or major account strategy during the early stages of development; these remain the responsibility of the VP of Sales and senior Account Executives until the Junior Account Executive has demonstrated the experience and judgment to manage them independently.

Once an event is sold, the Junior Account Executive is responsible for a clean, detailed handoff to the Project Management and Operations teams and remains the client's point of contact for the relationship, coordinating with Operations on execution rather than managing operational delivery directly.

Regular, proactive communication with the VP of Sales regarding pipeline status, client conversations, and account activity is expected as part of ongoing coaching and development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

REQUIREMENTS

•       0–2 years of experience in sales, business development, hospitality, event planning, or another customer-facing role.

•       Demonstrated persistence and comfort with high-volume prospecting, cold calling, and outbound outreach.

•       Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write follow-up correspondence that gets a response.

•       Ability to manage a full pipeline and multiple concurrent client conversations without letting opportunities go cold.

•       Willingness to travel locally and regionally for client meetings, site visits, and networking events.

•       Valid state driver's license and acceptable driving record.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates demonstrate a hunter's mindset, competitive drive, and genuine curiosity about live events and AV production. This role requires coachability, organizational hustle, professionalism under pressure, and a service-after-the-sale mentality that carries through from first contact to final invoice.

Preferred:

•       Prior experience in AV, event production, hospitality, or venue sales.

•       Existing network among corporate event planners, meeting planners, or venue contacts in the Charlotte/Carolinas market.

•       Bachelor's degree in business, communications, hospitality, or a related field.

•       Familiarity with HubSpot and IntelliEvent Lightning.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate pipeline value, and quote figures, and apply percentages and basic financial calculations as they relate to sales quotas, event budgets, and final event billing.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to exercise sound judgment in qualifying prospects, interpret client needs, and resolve routine scheduling, pipeline, and account issues independently in a fast-paced, competitive sales environment.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace and CRM software, with the ability to learn new sales and event-management platforms quickly. Familiarity with HubSpot and IntelliEvent Lightning is a plus.
