Key Responsibilities
- Generate and maintain production forecasts, type curves, and development cases for assigned asset areas.
- Evaluate well and reservoir performance using rate transient analysis (RTA), pressure transient analysis (PTA), and numerical simulation when necessary.
- Develop recommendations related to well spacing, landing zones, completion design, and production practices.
- Perform project-level economic analyses for the purpose of AFEs and field development utilizing ARIES.
- Build and maintain advanced Spotfire dashboards, modifying existing scripts to dynamically analyze data on a spatial and trend basis.
- Lead integrated lookbacks that connect reservoir performance with drilling, completion, and operating outcomes.
- Evaluate and report competitor results detailing interpreted strategies and how it relates to internal practices.
- Work with the Finance team on budget and long-term forecasting, consistent with the Company’s development plan.
- Foster a highly collaborative, team-first environment to build consensus across engineering, operations, finance, and commercial teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–8 years of upstream operator experience, with a minimum of 2 years of dedicated reservoir engineering experience.
- Experience in Unconventional Reservoirs.
- Strong technical expertise and daily proficiency in ARIES for economic evaluation and decline curve analysis.
- Proficiency in RTA software, specifically Whitson.
- Advanced proficiency in Spotfire, with the ability to navigate and modify existing scripts to build robust data visualizations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Proven team-first mentality with a track record of actively collaborating rather than working in silos.
- Experience in the Eagle Ford basin is preferred, but not strictly required.
- Mix of reservoir, completions, planning, production operations, or drilling experience.
- Ability to leverage Generative AI tools for practical engineering problem-solving, data analysis, and workflow efficiency.
- In-office collaboration in Houston, TX.
- Half-day Fridays.
