Position Summary

Crescent Constructors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Loader Operator to support water and wastewater treatment plant, pump station, underground utility, and related heavy civil construction projects. The Loader Operator is responsible for safely operating wheel loaders to move, load, stockpile, and distribute materials throughout active construction sites. This position requires experience working around excavation operations, underground utilities, heavy equipment, and field crews while maintaining safe and efficient jobsite operations. The ideal candidate will have strong equipment operating skills, knowledge of construction site safety requirements, and a commitment to quality workmanship and teamwork.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate wheel loaders to load, transport, stockpile, and distribute soil, aggregate, gravel, and other construction materials
• Support water and wastewater construction activities, including excavation, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation
• Load dump trucks, haul trucks, and other equipment while maintaining safe loading practices
• Move and position materials to support underground utility installation, concrete operations, and general site construction
• Perform daily equipment inspections, fluid checks, and routine maintenance to ensure safe operating conditions
• Identify equipment deficiencies or mechanical issues and promptly report them to supervision
• Work closely with Foremen, equipment operators, and field crews to coordinate material movement and maintain productivity
• Operate equipment safely around trenches, underground utilities, structures, personnel, and other heavy equipment
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, stockpiles, access roads, and equipment staging locations
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety requirements, including equipment operation and excavation safety procedures

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating wheel loaders or similar heavy construction equipment
• Previous experience on water and wastewater, underground utility, or heavy civil construction projects preferred
• Proficiency in loading trucks, moving materials, managing stockpiles, and supporting excavation and backfill operations
• Knowledge of safe equipment operating practices, including working near trenches, underground utilities, and active construction crews
• Ability to perform daily equipment inspections, identify mechanical issues, and assist with routine maintenance
• Familiarity with construction materials, including aggregate, gravel, soil, and pipe bedding materials
• Ability to follow verbal instructions, recognize site hazards, and communicate effectively with supervisors and field personnel
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including prolonged sitting, climbing, bending, lifting, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Dependable, self-motivated, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a construction team
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and overtime as required by project needs, with a commitment to following all company safety rules and procedures
