Our focus is to provide an accessible, high-quality, and developmentally appropriate educational experience that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development for children 6 weeks and older in a nurturing environment. Our instruction focuses on language and communication development through participation in exploration, play and socialization opportunities, activities of daily living, and evidence-based curriculum activities.
We offer a competitive hourly wage, 40 hours of accrued PTO for sick/personal days, a 2 week paid winter holiday, a 1-week paid summer vacation other paid holidays throughout the year for employees in good standing.
Duties
Early Head Start is a free, federally funded program for families with children birth to three that promotes school readiness by fostering intellectual, social, and emotional development and strengthening parenting skills. It provides comprehensive services that support the entire family, focusing on the crucial prenatal to age three period to create a strong foundation for the child's future success in school and life. Our Center partenrs with Early Head Start.
Our Toddler EHS Teacher is responsible for implementing the curriculum, providing age-appropriate instruction, managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom, maintaining children's hygiene, monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional concerns, working with parents to ensure that children are learning and socializing in a positive way and assisting with preparing and serving meals and providing feeding assistance. The teacher must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment. The teacher will actively engage, encourage, teach, and care for and nurture toddlers.
The curriculum used in this EHS classroom is the Creative Curriculum/Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG). Lesson planning and antidotal record keeping/documentation is completed within the online TSG portal. Teachers receive ongoing training throughout the school year and attend at least one Early Head Start conference each year. Teachers are responsible for completing parent meetings and individual service plans for their EHS students throughout the year and are supported by an EHS Curriculum Coach on an ongoing basis. The ratio of teachers to students in the EHS classroom is 2 teachers to 8 students with Crescent implementing care groups within the EHS classrooms with a 1:4 ratio.
The EHS teacher will be supported by Crescent our EHS partners in getting their CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) in an online training format, if they do not have a CDA, equivalent credential, or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.

- A CDA, a certificate equivalent to a CDA, an Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or the willingness to get a CDA or degree with Crescent support.
- Eligible to work in the United States
- GED or higher
- 6 months or more of experience in a licensed childcare facility (preferred but not required)
- Be 18 years of age.
- Provide a record of immunizations and a health screening questionnaire.
- Must clear state and federal background checks and pass a health screening.
- Have an issued form of identification

Hourly pay is commensurate with related experience, training, and education.
