Crescendo Designs is a luxury home technology firm based in Westhampton Beach, NY, serving the Hamptons, Long Island, and Manhattan.

We design, install, and service high-end residential technology systems, including:

• Audio & video
• Home theaters
• Lighting fixtures & lighting control

• Home automation and smart home technology

We work in some of the most beautiful homes in the region, with a strong focus on craftsmanship, professionalism, and attention to detail.

The Opportunity

No previous audio/video or smart home experience is required. We will train the right person.

We are looking for a mechanically inclined, dependable person who has some experience working in a skilled trade or construction environment and wants to build a career in the home technology industry.

Experience in electrical, HVAC, alarm/security systems, carpentry, low-voltage wiring, construction, or a similar trade is a strong plus.

You don't need to know how to install a home theater or program a smart home. We can teach you that.

What we are looking for is someone who already understands the basics of working on a professional job site: how to safely use hand and power tools, work from a ladder, protect a finished home, follow instructions, work as part of a crew, and take pride in the quality of their work.

What You'll Learn

Working alongside our experienced technicians, you'll learn how to:

• Install televisions, speakers, touch panels, keypads, projectors, and home theater equipment
• Pull, terminate, test, and label low-voltage cabling
• Build and wire professional equipment racks
• Install Lutron lighting control systems
• Install motorized window shades
• Install lighting fixtures and other low-voltage components
• Install and configure home networks and Wi-Fi systems
• Install high-end audio systems
• Troubleshoot wiring and equipment
• Read plans and follow system designs
• Work safely and efficiently in both new construction and finished luxury homes

What We're Looking For

• Some experience working in construction or a skilled trade such as electrical, HVAC, alarm/security, carpentry, low-voltage, or a related field
• Comfortable using common hand and power tools
• Familiarity with basic construction-site practices and safety
• Mechanically inclined and enjoys working with their hands
• Comfortable working on ladders and in attics, crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, and outdoor environments
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn
• Able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
• Detail-oriented and takes pride in clean, organized workmanship
• Professional appearance and attitude when working in clients' homes
• Strong communication skills with coworkers, project managers, builders, and clients
• Valid and clean NYS driver's license
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to report to our Westhampton Beach shop or directly to assigned job sites in Nassau County and New York City, depending on the day's assignment

Previous AV Experience Is NOT Required

Experience with audio/video, smart home systems, networking, Lutron, Control4, Crestron, Savant, or similar technologies is a plus — but it is not required.

We are more interested in finding someone with the right work ethic, mechanical ability, attitude, and willingness to learn.

Schedule & Travel Expectations

Our technicians work throughout the Hamptons, Long Island, and New York City. Applicants should understand our schedule and travel expectations before applying:

• Normal schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 7:30 am–6:00 pm
• 4-day work week with three-day weekends
• For projects in Suffolk County, technicians typically report to our Westhampton Beach shop at the beginning of the day and return to the shop at the end of the day. Travel between the shop and job site is paid work time.
• For projects in Nassau County and New York City, technicians may be required to report directly to the job site and end their workday from the job site. A daily travel stipend is provided for these assignments.
• Applicants must be able and willing to commute to job sites in Nassau County and New York City when assigned.
• While 6:00 pm is our typical end time, technicians must have reasonable flexibility when travel, job-site conditions, service calls, or the needs of a project occasionally require the workday to run later.
• Additional overtime opportunities may be available, including voluntary Monday work.
