We currently offer: Ballet, Lyrical/Jazz, Dance Acro, Stretch and Storybook Dance (pre-dance classes).
We have a level system with specific outlined expectations in order to move up a level. We offer a separate level system for each style, allowing dancers to enter a higher level in the style they are competent at while staying at the same level for the styles that need more work.
About the position:
Teachers are the backbone of the studio and the foundation of the student’s dance experience.
The Substitute Dance Teacher will be responsible for keeping the students physically and emotionally safe. This entails:
- Staying up to date on trainings for safety issues such as how to prevent abuse, recognize abuse and report abuse
- Promote the conflict resolution system in place within the studio
- Grow and strengthen the lines of communication between each student.
The Substitute Dance Teacher will be responsible for providing excellence in dance training. This entails:
- Following the outlined lesson plans
- Attend monthly trainings on skills best practices
- Asking for help when challenges arise!
Qualifications
- A positive attitude and a desire to improve ability to teach children
- 2 years of dance training
- Understanding of classroom management skills
- 1 years of teaching experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced ballet knowledge (Pointe work, pointesafe certification, RAD certification etc)
- Or Advanced Acro knowledge (mainly handspring and front aerial spotting certification)
Compensation
- $18-$35 an hour dependent on experience and training
- All required trainings paid for
Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
