What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coach, Girls Basketball position at Crenshaw Christian Center?
Position Summary:
Frederick K.C. Price III Christian Schools has an immediate opening for the position of girls’ basketball coach. The ideal coach must be able to plan practice sessions that will build core baketball skills within a supportive environment. As a part of the overall educational process, the coach will guide student-athletes through important life lessons and be committed to developing young athletes to be competent, responsible young women and better players. The coach, through intentional teaching and structured practices, is responsible for showing student-athletes how to be successful, how to win with humility, how to handle defeat with dignity, and how to be positive role models who represent FKCP and their community.
Interested individuals must possess high level coaching skills and experience, specific sport knowledge, and high level personal experience in playing the sport.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall planning and execution of the girls basketball program
- Develop the growth of the girls basketball program
- Develop and implement game strategies
- Plan and organize team practice sessions
- Coach team members individually and in groups
- Develop and implement team strength and conditioning program
- Monitor and maintain the discipline and conduct of student-athletes to support the culture of the school and athletic program
- Adhere to all state, section, conference and league rules and regulations/policies
- Build a positive relationship with all members of the school community, including students, faculty/staff, administration, parents and alumni
- Be a mentor, both in volleyball and in life
Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience at the high school and/or college level.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work collaboratively as a team member.
- Must be self-directed.
- Time commitment - must be available for practices and games during weekday afternoons and evenings and on some Saturdays.
