1st Shift - Forklift Operator - $26.71/Hour

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Maintain flow of department by moving, locating parts.  Safe operation of forklift, keep area organized.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain material flow within job assignment and as directed by supervisor.
• Operate material handling equipment.
• Complete maintenance checklist on material handling equipment daily.
• Assist with custodial duties within department or plant as required.
• Report labor and job data accurately.
• Maintain quality, safety and efficiency.
• Maintain clean and neat work area.
• Perform other duties within the department or plant as directed by supervision. 

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.  Complete Company forklift training and maintain current license.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial. 

SKILLS:

A good command of the English language is required, both written and spoken.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.  Ability to operate a forklift efficiently.  Ability to read and understand routings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to physically perform essential functions of the job.  Must be able to frequently move up to 34 lbs., frequently up to 34 lbs., and occasionally up to 100 lbs.  Typically requires sitting and handling on a regular basis, crouching and reaching frequently and standing, walking, stooping, climbing, balancing, and kneeling occasionally.  Specific vision requirements include depth perception and peripheral vision.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Regularly exposed to noise, odors, chemicals, temperature extremes and vibration.  Operation of a forklift and pallet jack is required.  Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes with metatarsal protection and gloves are required.
