What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Veterinary Technician position at Creekside Animal Hospital?
Lead Veterinary Technician Wanted- Chief Chaos Coordinator. Patient Advocate. Professional Animal Wrangler.
Are you the person everyone turns to when things get busy? Can you place a catheter, monitor anesthesia, calm a nervous client, answer three questions at once, and somehow remember where the blood tubes disappeared to?
If your superpower is making veterinary medicine look easy (even though we all know it isn't), we want to meet you.
We're a well-established, full-service small animal veterinary hospital looking for an experienced Lead Veterinary Technician to help lead our incredible team. We believe in exceptional patient care, outstanding client service, teamwork, and maybe just a tiny bit of caffeine.
You're Our Kind of Leader If You:
- Have several years of veterinary technician experience and leadership skills to match.
- Can lead by example—even on those "everything that could happen, happened" days.
- Stay calm under pressure while helping everyone else do the same.
- Love mentoring newer team members and celebrating their successes.
- Believe communication solves almost everything.
- Can juggle patient care, team support, doctor requests, and client concerns without dropping the ball (or the puppy).
- Have a great sense of humor because veterinary medicine definitely keeps us humble.
Your Daily Adventures Include:
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting our veterinary technician team.
- Assisting doctors with appointments, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and hospitalized patients.
- Monitoring anesthesia like the rockstar you are.
- Collecting laboratory samples and running diagnostics.
- Performing radiographs and helping create treatment plans.
- Ensuring medical records are accurate and complete.
- Helping maintain inventory and equipment because magically appearing supplies aren't actually a thing.
- Training team members on protocols and helping implement new procedures.
- Jumping in wherever needed.
- Providing compassionate care to every patient—and reassurance to every worried pet parent.
Bonus Points If You:
- Are licensed or credentialed (where applicable).
- Enjoy teaching and coaching others.
- Can find a vein on a dehydrated Chihuahua.
- Know where everything is...or at least know who does.
- Can function before your first cup of coffee. (Seriously...how?)
Veterinary medicine isn't always easy, but it's always meaningful. If you're ready to lead an amazing team, make a difference every day, and laugh along the way, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and help us continue providing exceptional care—one wagging tail (or dramatic cat) at a time!
