Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting landscaping supplies, including plants, soil, mulch, hardscape materials, and gardening tools
- Load and unload trucks using hand tools, power tools, or equipment such as forklifts and excavators
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the yard, ensuring all materials are properly stored and accessible
- Operate construction and landscaping equipment safely, including lawn mowers, snow plows, tree trimmers, and irrigation systems
- Conduct routine inspections of yard equipment and tools; perform basic maintenance or report repairs needed
- Assist with inventory management by stocking supplies, tracking stock levels, and preparing orders for delivery or restocking
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot power tools, lawn care equipment, and construction machinery
- Safely operate forklifts, wheel loaders and heavy equipment
- Ability to use hand tools safely and efficiently for various landscaping tasks
- Knowledge of hardscape installation including pavers, retaining walls, or patios is a plus
- Experience with snow plowing or winter maintenance operations is advantageous
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with physical stamina for lifting and manual labor
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality standards
