This position will be based in the Prescott, AZ area, and will travel in Yavapai County; and to Glendale, AZ.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Services Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving growth and enhancing the credit union’s small business portfolio by developing and managing relationships with small and mid-sized business owners. The Business Services Specialist will provide strategic guidance, advanced financial solutions, and a full suite of Business Services products tailored to meet the evolving needs of business members. This includes a focus on treasury management, small business lending, and other specialized services designed to optimize cash flow and financial stability. This position requires a deep understanding of complex financial structures, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
In addition to fostering relationships with local businesses and existing members, the Business Services Specialist will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, establishing long-term partnerships, and achieving higher performance goals. The Specialist will work closely with leadership to shape Business Services strategies and contribute to the credit union’s overall growth.
Strong analytical skills, an ability to assess more complex financial situations, and expertise in Business Services will be essential. As a trusted advisor, the Business Services Specialist will drive high-value results while maintaining a strong commitment to member satisfaction and regulatory standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performance – Meet or exceed individual and team targets for business development, product penetration, membership growth and member satisfaction. Ability to identify opportunities to cross-sell additional products and services that meet members' evolving needs. Provide expert guidance on a wide range of business services products, including merchant services, cash management solutions, and small business lending. Stay informed about new products, services, and industry trends to offer members the best solutions available. Be visible within the community, through networking and providing education to local and small businesses.
- Business Development – Be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of business members. Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with members to understand their financial needs and goals. Conduct regular meetings with business members to review their accounts, identify needs, and provide solutions. Oversee the opening, maintenance, and closing of business accounts, including checking, savings, and money market accounts. Ensure all member information is accurately recorded and maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements. Address and resolve member inquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
- Compliance & Risk Management – Adhere to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. Monitor account activity for potential fraud and escalate suspicious activities as necessary. Actively participate in training and stay current on compliance and risk management practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing or other related industry. Or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 - 5 years of previous business banking, small business lending, treasury management services, preferably within a credit union or banking environment.
