The intern will apply advanced database modeling, coding, and analytical techniques to improve risk analytics and support the ongoing modernization efforts. We are looking for a highly analytical and driven student who is passionate about leveraging technology and data to strengthen the bank’s risk management and operational efficiency.
Position Requirements
- Undergraduate Junior (entering junior year) or Senior (must have one semester/quarter remaining).
- Majoring in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Mining, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Previous experience with Python and SQL.
- Present in Las Vegas, NV, for the Summer Internship Program: June 8, 2026 – August 14, 2026 (10-weeks at 40 hours a week).
- Assist in designing and modeling relational and alternative database structures to effectively support risk data requirements.
- Automate manual data processes by strategically rethinking current data models and approaches.
- Support modernization initiatives by applying "out-of-the-box" thinking to test and recommend improvements for existing processes.
- Conduct investigative analysis to evaluate long-term strategic and optimization targets for risk analytics.
- Collaborate with risk analytics teams to translate complex statistical and data science concepts into actionable business insights.

Program Goals And Objectives
- Contribute to Database Modernization: Build and document a proof of concept comparing current and alternative database structures to evaluate design trade-offs, performance, and future scalability.
- Optimize Core Risk Processes: Apply data modeling techniques to redesign a major risk process, learning how to improve efficiency by rethinking current approaches.
- Support Modernization Research: Investigate emerging data science and analytical approaches, and recommend how the bank can apply them to Risk Management, providing exposure to modernization strategies.
- Apply Quantitative Analysis to Data Design: Use mathematical and statistical methods to evaluate dataset structures, learning how quantitative insights can guide and refine data architecture.
- Build Communication and Presentation Skills: Present findings and recommendations from a proof of concept to the team, developing the ability to translate technical results into clear business value.
