Position Summary
Credit One Bank is looking for a Data Science Intern who will be part of the Risk Management department but support the entire bank. Responsibilities include developing predictive models and optimization methods for customer targeting, risk assessment, underwriting, credit line extension, and complex ad hoc analyses.

Position Summary
Credit One Bank is looking for a Data Science Intern who will be part of the Risk Management department but support the entire bank. Responsibilities include developing predictive models and optimization methods for customer targeting, risk assessment, underwriting, credit line extension, and complex ad hoc analyses.
Position Requirements
- An earned bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics or a related field.
- Must be enrolled in a master’s degree program in one of the fields listed above, with at least one semester/quarter left before graduation.
- Knowledge of Machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling.
- Software: Python, PySpark, SAS.
- Practical experience in building statistical models (previous internship, pet project during training courses, etc.).
- This position is not open to sponsorship.
- Present in Las Vegas, NV, for the Summer Internship Program: June 9, 2025 – August 15, 2025 (10-weeks at 40 hours a week).
The Data Science Intern will assist in furthering the following functions within Risk Management:
- Data collection
- Exploratory data analysis
- Feature transformation
- Model building (risk assessment)
- Presentation of results
Program Goals And Objectives
The Intern will have the following the following goals:
- Improve understanding of the credit card business.
- Understand the bank’s data sources.
- Improve Python and Spark knowledge.
- Gain practical experience in building a risk assessment (or response) model on real data.
- Improving a current model by using new internal data sources.
- Preparing development data sample.
- Developing new behavior features based on internal data.
- Creating a model using SparkML.
- Comparing the result with the current model and presenting the results.
