Job Title: Nurse Content Developer (Remote - Contract)

Job Summary:
The Nurse Content Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and refining digital content and assessment tools for Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and Medication Aide programs. This role involves collaboration with the lead editorial staff and subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure the creation of accurate and effective instructional materials. The position is remote with an expectation to attend in-person planning sessions at our office once per quarter.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties of the position include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Write and edit assessment items, including multiple choice, multiple response, prioritization, and matching questions, aligned with learning objectives and psychometric standards.
- Create digital instructional screens and CNA skills exam cards to support knowledge and performance-based testing.
- Work collaboratively with SMEs and psychometricians to curate, refine, and validate assessment content.
- Conduct panel reviews and SME surveys to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
- Ensure all materials are educationally sound, technically accurate, and aligned with current healthcare standards.
- Adhere to internal content development guidelines, timelines, and quality standards.

- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing or Education preferred.
- Unencumbered compact RN license preferred.
- Current or former instructor in a nursing education program.
- Experience writing or reviewing multiple-choice assessment items.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to clearly convey technical concepts to a learner audience.
- Skilled in editing and refining educational language for clarity and tone.
- Basic math skills required to interpret scoring, item weighting, and construct test specifications as needed.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate instructional objectives and align content accordingly.
- Ability to apply logical reasoning and critical thinking to content review and development.
- Proficient in Google Drive and Microsoft Word.
- Comfortable using online content authoring platforms and collaborative tools.
- Ability to quickly learn internal tools and systems used in content production.
Travel Requirement: Must be available for quarterly in-person meetings at company headquarters in Lake Mary, Florida (one week per quarter; travel expenses reimbursed).
Compensation: This is a freelance, contract-based role. Compensation is based on a per-assessment item or per-digital screen rate, which will vary by project.
