What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Creche Day Schools?

Our team is experienced, dedicated, and has a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices. Our teachers are excellent at planning fun, educationally-focused hands-on curricula for children. We measure our success by the quality relationships we build with each child and their family. This requires us to be self-starters, effectively manage orderly classrooms, and oversee activities cooperatively.
A typical week might include :
- Meeting each child where they are, getting messy (sometimes), and having FUN together (always!)
- Partnering with your team to execute weekly lesson plans based on children's development and NAEYC Accreditation Standards;
- Coordinating with co-teachers to create classroom projects, allowing time for the supplies to be prepared;
- Encouraging children's learning through play on a developmentally appropriate level;
- Engaging in professional conversation with parents, team members, and children;
- Managing your classroom to ensure quality, safety, state ratios, and sanitation guidelines are met;
This Position might be for You:
If you have experience in working with young children and/or one of the following:
- At least 12 hours of academic college credit within Family Studies, Human Development, Psychology, or Education-related fields of study; or
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Family Studies or related study; or
- Child Development Associate certificate plus experience
All applicants must be able to meet the physical and mental demands of the position, including the ability to actively engage with young children, lift and carry up to 40 pounds, and respond swiftly to their needs. Applicants agree to maintain full and unimpaired abilities while on duty, including abstaining from the influence of alcohol or any other substances that could impact performance or compromise safety.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.50 - $15.00 per hour
