Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the varsity football team, including planning practices, developing game strategies, and overseeing team conditioning.
- Foster a positive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal development.
- Mentor student-athletes in skill development, behavior management, and academic responsibilities to ensure well-rounded growth.
- Coordinate with school administration, athletic trainers, and other coaches to ensure safety protocols and compliance with regulations.
- Organize team meetings, scouting reports, and game-day preparations to maximize team performance.
- Promote school spirit by encouraging student participation in related activities such as cheerleading and community events.
- Maintain accurate records of player attendance, performance metrics, and disciplinary actions while ensuring adherence to school policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching with a focus on football or similar team sports.
- Strong background in physical education or teaching physical activity; experience in teaching or childcare is a plus.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to motivate students and maintain discipline.
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds in school or health club settings.
