The York County Creative Trails and Composition Studio is an innovative experiential community support program for adults with intellectual uniqueness. DSPs (Direct Support Professionals) will facilitate and/or engage in activities that include music, art, and seasonal outdoor activities, with individuals in a group setting. We are a diverse, unique, and exciting program, looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate DSP mentor to work with incredibly talented folks as they learn about music composition sound engineering, visual arts, and outdoor exploration.

The DSP is responsible for supporting individuals in an average of a 3:1 (staff) ratio. The DSP will support individuals to pursue their musical and artistic passions, explore the outdoors, and to explore community connections based on their interests.

Schedule: We are hiring for a full time position, Monday through Friday, from 8:45am-4:15pm, with occasional evening and weekend events if desired, or it could be a part time position, a few days a week (flexible and negotiable) for the right candidate. You may occasionally be asked to work at another Creative Trails program located in either Biddeford or Portland. Rate of pay starts at $16.50/hour.

Creative Trails has been around for over 19 years as the community support program of Support Solutions which is a private, non-profit organization. Support Solutions has been providing services to individuals with intellectual and mental health challenges in central and southern Maine since 1997.

We provide our Direct Support Professional staff with paid training, (DSP, CPR/FA, Safety Care). * Participate in developing and carrying out plans to meet the needs of the individual.

* Organize, supervise, and interact with the individual supported.

* Be creative with planning activities in the community.

* Transport individual in the community in a company van.

* Complete required documentation.

To be considered a GREAT CANDIDATE you must

*Have a high school diploma or GED

*Willingness to undergo background checks in accordance with local law/regulations

*Have an acceptable driving record and background checks (including criminal, driving, the OIG, DHHS, APS, and other governmental agencies)

*Have a valid MAINE driver’s license and a reliable insured vehicle

*Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
