Audio Technician

What You Will Do

Performs the role of “field technician” where duties are based on system size and expertise needed on site. This role is involved in the loading and unloading of audio equipment (speakers, mixing boards, cable, etc.) It requires travel to various job locations in order to operate audio equipment for specified events.

• Work involves contacting clients, design or production staff, interfacing with project managers and operations staff through the entire event.
• Pre-production computer work (in house): Assist in the development of show layout and design using computer software such as Vector Works or SoundVision.
• On show site: Requires ability to operate equipment such as mixing consoles, rigging, playback equipment, and other various equipment.
• When in the shop employee handles the audio department’s logistics and general maintenance of assets/equipment on a daily basis.
  
  

What You Will Need

• College degree or in depth industry and job specific skills acquired through a combination of formal instruction and on the job training.
• Electronic engineering helpful.
• Knowledge of Osccilloscope, volt meter or source independent measurement audio systems preferred.
• Positive attitude and ability to work independently
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
  
  

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, hours may vary. Approximately 85% ( -) of travel time.
