Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without hazards.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness by dusting, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, and disinfecting surfaces to promote sanitation standards.
- Operate custodial equipment including floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and other cleaning tools to ensure optimal facility care.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Support facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting issues requiring professional attention.
- Assist with industrial cleaning projects or residential painting tasks when required to support broader site maintenance efforts.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries or concerns from staff or visitors professionally and promptly.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and the use of various cleaning equipment is essential.
- Experience handling chemical agents safely and adhering to chemical handling safety procedures is highly valued.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing floors enhances your suitability for this role.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices is required.
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or Porter roles demonstrates versatility in custodial responsibilities.
