Summary

Creative Sign is seeking a highly organized and experienced Installation and Service Manager to lead our installation and service department. This managerial role requires overseeing a team of installation and service technicians, ensuring that all sign installations and service requests are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sign installation, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the sign manufacturing industry. This position offers an opportunity to manage a team, optimize processes, and provide top-tier service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

·        Lead, mentor, and manage a team of installation and service technicians, ensuring effective teamwork, communication, and high performance.

·        Implement corrective action when required to address behavioral, efficiency, or work quality concerns. Hold team members accountable for their work and decisions.

·        Ensure the install department operates efficiently by minimizing downtime and reducing waste. Delegate tasks effectively to ensure team members are operating at maximum efficiency while maintaining quality installation.

·        Oversee day-to-day operations of the department, including workload distribution, resource allocation, and scheduling.

Installation Oversight:

·        Oversee all installation ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to project specifications and design plans.

·        Collaborate in a positive manner with internal teams (sales, design, graphics, ADA, routing, fabrication, and installation) to ensure the smooth execution of projects.

·        Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that timelines, budgets, client specifications, and quality standards are met.

·        Oversee the proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and trucks.

·        Ensure project documentation is complete on all projects, including time entry and filing completion photos. Ensure all on site deviations from original design specifications or scope are documented in Mothernode and communicated to the rest of the team as needed.

·        Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to sign installation and service, providing technical guidance to the team as needed.

·        Ensure that service orders are completed promptly, professionally, and according to customer needs.

·        Ensure surveys are completed promptly and completely.

·        Ensure proper handling and transportation of signage, to minimize waste and damage.

Quality Control:

·        Review all project photos to ensure install quality and confirm that all sites are left as clean and tidy as possible.

·        Identify and address any defects, errors, or discrepancies in signs before they are loaded onto install trucks. Ensure install team is fully trained to load signs onto trucks without damaging them in travel.

·        Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Strategic Planning & Innovation:

·        Monitor the inventory of tools, equipment, and materials used by the department, including service and install trucks, lifts, and trailers, ensuring that all items are in good condition and available when needed.

·        Identify opportunities and implement best practices to improve the design, production, and installation processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall department performance.

·        Ensure regular maintenance of install trucks, trailers, equipment, and lifts is done to ensure maximum efficiency and quality of installation and to ensure longevity. Research and propose recommendations as they become less efficient or industry relevant. Implement the new practices and maintenance protocols for new trucks, trailers, and equipment used within the department.

Communication & Collaboration:

·        Serve as the primary point of contact for other departments regarding install and service needs, providing expert advice, answering questions, and offering solutions.

·        Encourage comradery and constructive and positive communication between all team members across all departments in order to foster respect and appreciation for all roles across the entire Creative Sign team. Discourage workplace drama and gossip.

·        Provide clear, timely updates to the sales team and customers on project status, timelines, and any changes or issues that may arise on their projects.

Client Relations & Communications:

·        Ensure installation and service teams are communicating with clients regarding installation dates and times, as well as service issues.

·        Manage customer expectations and address any concerns regarding the timeline, scope of work, or completed installations.

·        Communicate effectively with the sales team and clients to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.

Safety & Compliance:

·        Enforce safety procedures and ensure that all team members are following proper safety protocols when working at Creative Sign or on a job site.

·        Ensure staff attend regular safety training sessions to maintain compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.

·        Ensure all trucks, trailers, and equipment are properly maintained and meet safety standards, scheduling regular maintenance and repairs as needed.

·        Ensure all teammates wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

·        Promote a culture of safety, ensuring technicians understand and follow proper procedures when working at heights, using heavy equipment, and handling tools.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

·        5 years of experience in sign installation.

·        1 year in a leadership or management role.

·        High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications or training in electrical systems, construction management, or a related field is a plus.

·        A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.

·        OSHA certifications or other relevant safety training is a plus.

·        Any service or hospitality industry experience is a plus.

·        In-depth knowledge of sign manufacturing materials, tools, and equipment.

·        Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

·        Strong understanding of sign installation processes, safety regulations, and building codes.

·        Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to sign installation and maintenance.

·        Exceptional customer service and a professional demeanor.

·        Experience managing a team of technicians, including training, scheduling, and performance management.

Physical Requirements

·        Ability to lift and move signage up to 75 lbs. and handle heavy equipment.

·        Ability to work at heights, including on ladders, scaffolding, or lifts, and in varying weather conditions.

·        Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
