Creative Powder Coating is a growing, family-owned company in Crest Hill, IL, specializing in high-quality powder coating and surface preparation. We're looking for a dependable, hardworking Industrial Sandblaster / Blasting Operator who takes pride in producing quality work and enjoys being part of a team.
While you don't need to be a journeyman sandblaster to apply, candidates should have a basic understanding of abrasive blasting and be comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Our blasting department utilizes a pressure pot system in an indoor, self-reclaiming blast room.
Position Details
- Location: Crest Hill, IL
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
- 30-minute lunch
- Full-Time
- Overtime opportunities available
Compensation
- Starting at $20.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare metal parts and components by removing rust, paint, scale, grease, and other surface contaminants using abrasive blasting equipment.
- Operate a pressure pot blasting system safely and efficiently.
- Adjust blasting equipment, including air pressure and abrasive flow, to achieve the required surface finish.
- Load abrasive media into the blasting system as needed.
- Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and properly use provided PPE.
- Work closely with the production team to maintain workflow and meet production deadlines.
Qualifications
- Previous industrial sandblasting or related manufacturing experience is REQUIRED.
- Basic knowledge of abrasive blasting equipment and safe operating procedures.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
- Forklift experience is a plus (or willingness to learn).
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the shift.
