Title: Department: Quality Assurance Engineer Software Engineering Location: Overland Park, KS Job Description: The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of applications. You will also have a key role in supporting User Acceptance Testing. This role requires someone who can work with broad and often evolving requirements, ensuring that all software is thoroughly tested and meets our standards for performance, security, and usability. Responsibilities • Conduct thorough QA testing of applications, ensuring they meet functional, per- formance, and security requirements. Identify, report, and track defects, ensuring they are resolved before release. • Assist in planning, code reviews, and executing user acceptance testing for applica- tions. Work closely with end users to ensure that the applications meet business needs and expectations. • Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and technical requirements. Document test results and provide detailed feedback and suggestions for improvement. • Perform data validation and backend/database testing, including SQL-based verifica- tion of data integrity, transformations, and API/service-layer behavior, in addition to front-end functional testing. • Work closely with the development team to understand project requirements and timelines. Participate in daily stand -ups and sprint planning sessions to ensure test- ing is aligned with project milestones. • Manage testing for projects with broad and sometimes evolving requirements, en- suring that software development meets changing specifications without sacrificing quality. • Participate in the creation of automated test scripts and frameworks to streamline the QA process, improve test coverage, and reduce manual testing efforts. • Explore and apply AI -assisted tools and techniques to support test creation, execu- tion, and maintenance, helping to improve testing efficiency and coverage, and stay- ing adaptable as AI-driven QA practices continue to evolve. • Stay up to date with current technology. Provide input for continuous improvement in QA processes, methodologies, and tools used within the organization. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering. • Several years of experience in software quality assurance, including testing software developed by other team members in cloud-based environments. • Experience with C# and SQL, or a willingness to learn them. • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, inte- gration, regression, and user acceptance testing. • Ability to create detailed test plans, test cases, test data, and test reports. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross - functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and end users. • Strong attention to detail. • Ability to work with broad and evolving requirements. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. • Commitment to teamwork and excellence. • Motivated and results oriented. • Available to work outside of normal business hours when required.
