Position Overview
We’re looking for a Retention Marketing Associate/Email Marketing Manager to support the execution of lifecycle and CRM initiatives across email, SMS, loyalty, reviews, and direct mail. This role will partner closely with the Director of Retention Marketing to ensure campaigns are flawlessly built, delivered on time, and optimized for performance.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone early in their retention marketing career who’s eager to learn, detail-oriented, and passionate about building strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Campaign Execution & QA
- Build and deploy campaigns across email, SMS, and direct mail platforms (Klaviyo, Attentive, PostPilot).
- Manage segmentation, scheduling, testing, and QA to ensure flawless execution.
- Build, test, and optimize automated journeys (welcome, post-purchase, replenishment, winback, abandoned cart/checkout, gifting reminders).
Creative & Briefing Support
- Assist in drafting creative briefs, writing copy, and coordinating with design.
- Ensure campaigns align with brand voice, gifting moments, and seasonal calendars.
Loyalty & Reviews Programs
- Support management of loyalty platform, helping track signups, engagement, and redemptions.
- Assist with Okendo reviews: triggering post-purchase review flows, tracking performance, and compiling insights for the team.
Analytics & Reporting
- Pull weekly performance reports across email/SMS/loyalty and share top-line metrics cross-functionally
- Track core KPIs, open rate, click rate, conversion rate, unsubscribe rate, and revenue per recipient and assist in pulling out insights to optimize the program
- Help monitor deliverability, list health, and subscriber growth.
- Partner with Growth and Analytics to leverage customer segmentation, personalization, and predictive insights to maximize engagement and CLV.
Testing & Optimization
- Assist with setup and reporting of A/B tests across subject lines, send times, creative, and segmentation.
- Compile learnings into actionable recommendations for the team.
Customer Experience Collaboration
- Partner with the CX team to monitor post-purchase feedback and escalate insights to the Director.
- Track customer sentiment from reviews and surveys to identify common themes.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with growth, creative, and product teams to ensure retention programs align with broader brand goals.
- Help maintain campaign and lifecycle calendars so all initiatives run smoothly.
Innovation & Trends
- Stay current on industry benchmarks, DTC lifecycle marketing trends, and new platform capabilities.
- Bring innovative ideas to keep Boarderie’s retention marketing competitive and best-in-class.
Required Experience
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in email and lifecycle marketing within a high-growth, consumer-facing DTC brand.
- Proven success in building and optimizing lifecycle programs that increase retention and revenue.
- Strong knowledge of Klaviyo (required) and SMS tools (Attentive a plus).
- Experience with omnichannel retention strategies (e.g., direct mail, loyalty, or referral programs).
- Data-driven and analytical, with the ability to translate metrics into actionable insights.
- Experience with customer segmentation, automation, and personalized campaign execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong eye for detail and brand tone.
- Organized, deadline-oriented, and able to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
