CMC is seeking a highly organized and professional Hiring & Recruiting Specialist to support and coordinate the company’s recruiting and hiring efforts across multiple departments. This role works closely with shop foremen, department leaders, and HR leadership to ensure an organized, efficient, and professional hiring process from sourcing through onboarding.
The Hiring & Recruiting Specialist serves as the central point of coordination for recruiting activities, candidate communication, interview scheduling, and hiring pipeline management. This role is also responsible for developing innovative ways to market CMC’s open positions through LinkedIn, job fairs, trade schools, community events, workforce partnerships, and other recruiting outreach efforts to strengthen candidate pipelines and promote CMC as an employer of choice.

What You’ll Do
• Post, maintain, and update accurate job descriptions across recruiting platforms and hiring channels
• Source and screen applicants using job boards, recruiting platforms, referrals, networking, and other recruiting methods
• Build and maintain recruiting pipeline relationships to support current and future workforce needs
• Coordinate interviews between candidates, shop foremen, hiring managers, and department leaders
• Communicate candidate information, interview details, and hiring updates clearly and professionally
• Track staffing needs, open positions, applicant flow, and hiring progress
• Organize and coordinate onboarding and orientation processes for new hires
• Maintain accurate recruiting, hiring, and onboarding records with attention to detail and confidentiality
• Monitor hiring metrics including hiring rates, turnover trends, and retention data
• Collaborate with HR leadership, operations leadership, and shop management to support workforce planning and hiring priorities
• Support continuous improvement of recruiting processes, candidate experience, and onboarding workflows
• Stay informed on recruiting trends, workforce challenges, hiring best practices, and employment compliance requirements
What We’re Looking For
• High school diploma required
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Recruiting, or related field preferred
• 2–3 years of experience in recruiting or a related HR field supporting multiple locations preferred
• Prior experience with HRIS systems preferred (Auris or ADP experience is a plus)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with leaders, supervisors, and applicants from diverse backgrounds
